POSITION SUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the accounting team at an international public company. The Collections Coordinator will be responsible for fully managing all customer accounts for our ProShred corporate locations. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Collections Coordinator will play an interictal part in communicating and following up with clients on outstanding invoices, assisting with the resolution of disputed accounts, and resolving customer discrepancies. The successful candidate will be customer focused, motivated, enthusiastic, outgoing and have a passion for helping people.
YOUR IMPACT
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Monitoring, maintaining, and documenting status on all past due accounts
- Contacting customers and establishing reasons for past due account situation
- Making arrangements for payments to bring account current and following up to make sure all customer discrepancies are resolved
- Maintaining a very detailed collection call log, providing updates and follow up reminders
- Collect overdue accounts over 60 days for all accounts, this includes updating the client file with detailed call results and escalating if required
- Approve and apply credits on customer accounts
- Reconcile customer accounts as requested
- Other duties as required
Your Collections Expertise
- University or College degree in Accounting/Business or related field
- 2 + years’ experience in collections is an asset
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills with a professional, courteous, and positive attitude is essential
- Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Customer service oriented
- Confident and tactful to comfortably deal with clients and diverse personalities
- Ability to complete multiple overlapping projects
- Results oriented professional with solid negotiation skills
- “Can do” attitude, demonstrated ability to be solution oriented
- Time Management skills – ability to prioritize and stay focused
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Technical Experience:
- ERP experience particularly Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products: Excel, Word, and Outlook
