ABLE Engineering Services is a versatile, experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on a wide range of projects. We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying, and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental, and industrial projects. We are seeking Civil Engineering Technicians to join the team in our Valley office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed civil engineering design drawings using computer-aided design software
- Provide consulting services to municipal/private clients and developers
- Identify potential operational/interference issues and redesign systems to improve functionality
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
- Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule
- Systematically organize and maintain project files and drawings on our server, updating project folders as jobs progress and revisions are made
- Other duties as assigned by the department head
QUALIFICATIONS
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- Registration as a Civil Engineering Technician (CET) preferred
- Highly proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D and related analysis tools
- Experience with municipal and linear infrastructure design
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a designer, drafter, or similar role
- Strong drafting skills, including knowledge of templates, drawing set-up, and production
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to handle complex design and drafting assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to create drawings from written specifications and verbal instructions
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for periodic travel to work sites within Nova Scotia
