  • Graduate of post-secondary secretarial/business administration program or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years in progressively responsible clerical position(s).
  • Administrative support experience is essential
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, must be able to make decisions and use appropriate initiative.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office applications.
  • Answers telephone, takes messages, screens and re-routes calls.
  • Responds to callers’ enquiries and requests, receives visitors and staff
  • Takes minutes of staff and committees meetings and prepares report for distribution re: above.
  • Types letters, memos, reports and other correspondence from handwritten and machine dictation.
  • Sets up and maintains files.
  • Composes correspondence for the Director
  • Arranges meetings, assembles material for meetings.
  • Collects statistical data (workload, sessional and other as requested) and compiles appropriate reports.
  • Update the payroll information in the ESP
  • Provide support in the Medication Reconciliation process like calling pharmacies and arranging the files
  • Other duties as assigned
