The Opportunity
Procurement Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement/Logistics Office to join our busy procurement team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of full-cycle inventory procurement processes, such as conducting market research to identify potential suppliers of raw materials, equipment, and supplies required for the company's manufacturing operations, as well as processing trackers and maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation
The ideal individual for this position must possess the following:
- Computer skills (Microsoft programs, Inventory management software).
- Experience with purchasing processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting production environments and inventory replenishment models.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Brief Summary of the Positions' Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate the transportation of goods from suppliers.
- Plan and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare shipping documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Processing trackers and maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation.
- Evaluate the performance of logistics partners and vendors.
- Implement process improvements to enhance logistics operations.
- Manage customs clearance and import/export documentation.
- Provide support for inventory management and warehousing activities.
- Comparing quotes from different suppliers to ensure that the best quality and cost-effective materials, equipment, and supplies are sourced.
Required Experience, Education and Qualifications
- Required: 2 years of experience as a Procurement Officer in a Manufacturing environment
- Required: 2 years of customer service experience.
- Required: Must be able to travel to support customers.
- Required: Experience using supply chain and inventory management software.
- Required: Must own their own basic tools.
- Required: A Valid Class 5F driver's license.
- Required: Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Preferred: Manufacturing/engineering experience.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Procurement Manager.
