At Lawn and Ladder, we are looking for a hardworking, reliable General Labourer to join our crew for a seasonal contract running from September through April.
This role is dynamic and changes with the seasons. You will start the contract doing heavy fall property cleanups. As the winter approaches, we transition to our busy holiday lighting season, where you will be safely installing custom Christmas light displays on residential and commercial properties. In the new year, you will handle light take-downs, followed by spring property cleanups to close out the contract.
Please note: This is a highly physical, outdoor role that requires working at heights on ladders and roofs. A valid Working at Heights (WAH) certification is strictly required.
Key Responsibilities
- Fall & Spring Cleanups (Sept-Nov & Mar-Apr): Perform extensive yard cleanups including raking, bagging leaves, clearing garden beds, and removing branches or debris.
- Holiday Light Installation (Nov-Dec): Safely set up ladders and install holiday lighting on rooflines, trees, bushes, and architectural features.
- Take-Downs & Maintenance (Jan-Feb): Troubleshoot lighting issues during the season and carefully remove, pack, and label lights once the holidays are over.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate basic landscaping tools (leaf blowers, trimmers, hand tools).
- Site Management: Ensure all job sites are left clean, secure, and looking pristine before the crew departs.
Mandatory Requirements
- Working at Heights (WAH) Certification: You must hold a valid, up-to-date WAH certification.
- Expertise with Heights & Ladders: You must be 100% comfortable setting up and working on high extension ladders and walking on roofs all day.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders repeatedly, and stand/walk for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Weather-Ready: Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including fall rain, high winds, and freezing winter temperatures.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and ready to work hard as part of a team.
What We Offer
- Clear Timeline: Reliable contract work from September through April.
- Great Team Environment: Work outside with a supportive, energetic, and safety-focused crew.
- On-the-Job Training: We provide full training on proper lighting installation techniques and property cleanup standards.
Pay: $17.60-$22.00 per hour
