ROLE PROFILE:
Position: Application Specialist
Reports to: Director, IT Infrastructure
Location: Markham, Ontario/Remote

Key Responsibilities:
Support numerous applications primarily UltiPro, Comvida, Advance Tracker and Yardi. Your typical day will impact in the following ways:
Responsible for the day to day incident and services requests
Providing Tier 2 support to users, understanding of their needs and escalating with vendor when necessary
Managing changes within the application by properly entering them in the change management system and managing the change through its lifecycle
Acts as technical resource for project work
Engage regularly with internal business to ensure understanding of their needs and requirements
Responsible for audit compliance for assigned applications, reporting to Internal Audit and External Audit as needed
Managing external vendors to ensuring they comply with our vendor management & security policy
Maintaining and keeping appropriate documentation up to date
Managing the production, development, test and project environments
Work with IT and business leadership to identify and evaluate innovative ideas to help grow the application and meet business demands
Work with internal and external business partners to develop, test and implement application enhancements
Education & Experience:
3+ years’ related experience in directly related position.
Strong vendor management skills. Ability to take control of an incident and work with necessary parties to resolve in a timely fashion
Ability to translate business requirements into technical design
Independent worker with aptitude to manage multiple parallel activities
Excellent organization skills, customer service skills and proven analytical and decision-making capabilities
Support business level resources in the creating and maintenance of project cases, including creation of costing models and supporting documents
Knowledge of Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) tools.
Ability to innovate and learn new technologies quickly
Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
Must be able to travel to Care Communities/Retirement Residences when required.

Bonus points for having:
Experience working with HR and Finance departments
Knowledge of UltiPro, Yardi, PayScan, Comvida, Point Click Care, Payroll and Time Clock / Hand Punch systems
Report writing experience
Intermediate or higher knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications
Knowledge of security best practices
Experience with IT change management and ITSM systems (e.g. Cherwell)
Knowledge of COBIT, Bill 198\SOX, PHIPA, PIPEDA, ITIL or other control frameworks
