Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver operating as an Independent Contractor to join our logistics team. This role involves safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, and possess strong communication skills to coordinate deliveries efficiently.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport packages and goods to designated locations
- Load and unload items using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual handling techniques
- Ensure accurate delivery by verifying orders and delivery addresses
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and delivery equipment
- Assist with moving heavy or bulky items, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment when necessary
- Keep detailed records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery confirmations
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation
Qualifications
- Experience in moving heavy items, warehouse operations, or commercial driving preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and moving items safely
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members
- Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed
