The Manager, Warehouse & Logistics reports to the Senior Manager, Materials and is accountable for the overall performance, strategy, and continuous improvement of warehouse and logistics operations within a unionized manufacturing environment. This role provides operational leadership, alignment to business objectives and our collective agreement, and partners cross-functionally with Inventory Control, Supply Chain, Materials Planning, Production, and HR to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective material flow across the organization.

Job Description
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee all warehouse functions including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and internal material movement.
- Ensure alignment of warehouse operations with production requirements, improving flow, visibility, and responsiveness.
- Partner with Inventory Control to support cycle counting, audit readiness, ensuring accuracy of ERP transactions for all transactions.
- Drive standardization in work processes, layout, labeling, and visual management systems.
- Oversee equipment management, including safe operation, certification programs, and lifecycle planning.
- Lead CAPEX planning and justification for material handling equipment and facility improvements.
- Ensure effective execution of all production pack and material handling operations, including customer deliveries and internal transfers.
Logistics & External Coordination
- Provide oversight and back up staffing of logistics function, freight coordination, supplier expediting, and delivery performance.
- Establish and monitor logistics performance metrics, ensuring cost efficiency and service reliability.
- Manage risk related to transportation delays, carrier performance, and supply disruptions, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance and consistency in loading, unloading, and shipment documentation processes.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture as a visible and proactive leader.
- Ensure compliance with OHS NS legislation and corporate safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and workforce safety engagement.
Operational Leadership, People Management & Labour Relations
- Lead workforce planning, including hiring, onboarding, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability for safety, productivity, service levels, and engagement.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, service, productivity, cost, and accuracy.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving for material flow constraints, service interruptions, inventory discrepancies, and process inefficiencies.
- Act as the ERP Subject Matter Expert (SME) for warehouse and logistics processes ensuring system integrity, governance, and standardization, championing system adoption and process optimization, supporting cross-functional teams with data accuracy and reporting, and participating in system enhancements, upgrades, and testing
Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of related experience and 1+ years leadership experience 6 months assembly experience preferred
