Accounts Payable Coordinator / Specialist
General Accountability The Accounts Payable Specialist/Coordinator is accountable for the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions and the maintenance of reliable vendor and payment records. This role supports the Accounting Department by ensuring invoices and expenses are properly documented, coded, approved, and processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and payment schedules.
Responsibilities
· Accurately process vendor invoices in the accounting systems.
· Ensure invoices are routed to appropriate approvers, and properly coded.
· Match invoices to projects, subcontract commitments, purchase orders, receiving documents, and other supporting documentation.
· Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records.
· Prepare vendor payment registers in accordance with established schedules.
· Maintain accurate vendor records, ensuring vendor information is updated promptly.
· Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
· Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
· Process employee expense reports, as required.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department.
· Accounts payable reporting and analysis.
· Assist with cross-departmental process, and workflow notifications.
· Adhere and advocate for all financial internal control frameworks.
· Assist with ad hoc projects, as requested.
Desired Skills and Experience
· Previous accounts payable or accounting experience is preferred.
· Accounting education or coursework is an asset.
· Comfortable working with ERP systems, embracing change and new processes.
· Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
· Communication and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
