Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Flooring Installation Helper to assist with various flooring projects. This role involves supporting experienced installers in preparing and installing flooring materials such as vinyl planks, hardwood, and laminate. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, have some construction or handyman experience, and possess a strong work ethic. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in flooring installation and construction while contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of job sites, including moving materials and setting up tools
- Support the installation of flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, or laminate under supervision
- Use hand tools to cut, shape, and install flooring components accurately
- Help with surface preparation tasks like leveling, cleaning, and measuring spaces
- Perform minor carpentry tasks including caulking and sealing gaps as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout each project
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure working environment
- Learn on the job and grow your skills
- Assist lead installers with hardwood, laminate, and vinyl
Skills
- Experience with hand tools commonly used in construction and flooring installation
- Knowledge of flooring types such as tile laying, hardwood, laminate, or vinyl is preferred
- Strong carpentry skills including caulking and minor repairs preferred
- Prior handyman or construction experience is advantageous
- Good physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively within a team
