The Analytics Engagement Manager works directly with business areas and technology groups across the Enterprise. This role understands business activities, user profiles, data usage patterns, solution patterns and tools used to identify improvement opportunities within the scope of Data and Analytics to enhance business decision making and insights.
The design and implementation of prioritized improvement opportunities will be overseen by this role to ensure that client outcomes are achieved. Additionally, you will be accountable for identifying common patterns across multiple business areas and looking to achieve economies of scale across business areas for given solutions.
Who you'll work with
You will work closely with various business partners including the Data & Analytics team, Enterprise Service Deliver/IT, Investments division and People & Culture.
What you'll do
Work with business teams to build business cases that describe the value and desired outcomes for various data and/or analytics improvement opportunities/solutions
Bring together necessary members of the D&A team and other partner groups in the design and implementation of various solutions for business areas
Manage a pipeline of analytics solutions, assist in the prioritization of solutions and oversee the implementation of various solutions
Provide consulting to business areas on an ad-hoc basis on effective ways to use tools, data sources, and the availability of solutions at Teachers’ that may not be broadly known.
Identify strategic Data and Analytics business usage patterns and evolve aggregate requirements and trends across the organization.
Contribute to the management of the overall D&A demand intake by building business cases for various intake requests coming into D&A.
Contribute to the capture of standard Data Consumption Patterns across the Enterprise to enable better understanding of data usage and key focus areas for solution/capability improvement
Coordinate with other partner groups as appropriate to deliver solutions where the domain expertise resides elsewhere.
Contribute to overall client delivery and represent aggregate D&A platforms and solutions in coordination with other programs.
Maintain industry knowledge on business/technology capabilities, data platforms, architectures, solution patterns, analytics tools/technologies, and data used by similar organizations.
Contribute to design and delivery of D&A solutions
Responsible for client satisfaction and achievement of identified client outcomes in the delivery of specific D&A solutions
Provide recommendations to clients for solutions in the domain of Data and Analytics
Manage expectations of clients with respect to solution efficiency and timelines
Responsible for appropriate and accurate determination of business value associated with opportunity identification and solution prioritization
Identify potential external vendor solutions to meet business requirements
What you'll need
University degree, Computer Science, BA, BSc, Business, or Economics.
Solid understanding of Data and Analytics solutions (platforms and desktop tools)
Solid grasp of data sourcing, database technologies, data connection methods, data visualization tools and advanced analytics tools, concepts & solutions.
Strong Knowledge in Python, SQL, Power BI and Tableau to effectively collaborate with business and technology teams.
Understanding of process improvement frameworks e.g. LEAN
Minimum of 4 years of relevant client management
Strong client management skills including expectations, requirements, delivery oversight, client reporting and effective communication.
Experience in data operations, data management, securities database technology and/or analytical applications within an established financial services or investment fund management institution.
Strong relevant technology skills including relational databases, dimensional models and data transport methods
Exposure to leading Analytics tools and industry offerings
Investment industry and/or capital markets experience, including multi-strategy/multi-asset exposure is an asset
Excellent communicator, demonstrating good interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills. Must be able to take very complex data and concepts and make them understandable and actionable by both business and technical experts. Excellent verbal and written communication capability demonstrated at technical and business partner levels.
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, planning and organizing and organizational change disciplines.
