Position Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of tires and related products to customers using company vehicles. Drivers represent the company on the road and at customer locations and play a key role in providing reliable service and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role includes loading and unloading tires, verifying delivery accuracy, maintaining delivery documentation and supporting warehouse operations when required.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Operations
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
- Complete scheduled delivery roues efficiently and on time
- Delivery tires and related products to customer locations including retail shops, dealerships, and warehouses
- Obtain proof of delivery through signatures or electronic systems
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers
Loading and Route Preparation
- Assist with loading delivery vehicles in the warehouse prior to departure
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy and completeness before leaving the facility
- Secure tires and other products in the vehicle to prevent damage during transport
- Review delivery routes and ensure proper sequencing of stops
Unloading and Customer Service
- Unload tires safely at customer locations using proper lifting techniques
- Verify delivered products with the customer
- Report discrepancies, returns, or damaged products to dispatch or warehouse staff
- Maintain a processional company image while interacting with customers
Vehicle Safety and Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report vehicle issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards immediately
- Keep delivery vehicles clean and organized
- Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations
Documentation and Communication
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and route information
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or route changes
- Return completed paperwork or electronic delivery confirmations at the end of the shift
Warehouse Support
- Assist with picking, staging, and organizing delivery orders when required
- Support general warehouse tasks during slower delivery periods
Skills and Qualifications
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to safely lift and move tires repeatedly (up to approximately 60lbs)
- Strong time management and route navigation skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain schedules
- Good communication and customer service skills
