HAYDEN Diamond Bit Industries Ltd. specializes in the design, manufacture and distribution of diamond coring bits and other diamond products for the world’s mining and exploration industry. We are seeking a General Worker in Richmond, BC location.
Objectives:
Ensure designated areas are cleaned and maintained according to schedule or as needed. Perform routine cleaning of assigned machines and equipment as per the set schedule. Assist with material handling and other general tasks as required. Adhere to all company policies, including safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas (shops, parking lots and walkways, offices, hallways, restrooms, kitchens, etc.).
2. Empty trash bins and replace liners regularly.
3. Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
4. Maintain the cleanliness of common areas such as break rooms and conference rooms.
5. Clean windows, glass surfaces, and doors as required.
6. Clean and sanitize doors, kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, and appliances.
7. Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and used.
8. Assist in basic maintenance tasks, such as window washing, truck/forklift washing, minor repairs, moving furniture, or setting up spaces for meetings or events.
9. Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
10. Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a cleaner or general worker in production facilities is an advantage.
2. Knowledge of safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
3. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
4. No allergies to dust (including metal powders and general materials used in manufacturing and cleaning) and no impairment to physical ability or stamina to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Able to follow instructions, act and function independently and maintain full integrity whilst interacting effectively with others as a team.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
8. Reliability and a strong work ethic.
9. Ability to adapt to changing tasks or schedules as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Require standing, bending, lifting, and moving around during the duration of shift.
- Able to lift, carry and move up to 22KG of loads.
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures (indoors/outdoors).Protective equipment (PPE), such as safety goggles, ear protection, mask, safety gloves, and steel-toed boots, must be worn on the job.
