We’re Looking for a Flat Roofing Estimator and Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Flat Roofing Estimator and Project Manager to join our growing team based out of our Nelson office in British Columbia. Reporting directly to the President, the Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate project cost estimates and competitive bids for flat roofing projects. This role is ideal for someone detail-focused who understands roofing or construction costing and enjoys working directly with project teams, vendors, and clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
Estimating Responsibilities
- Review and analyze drawings, specifications and tender documents for accuracy and scope.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed proposals/bids.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quotes to assemble competitive pricing.
- Submit tenders on time and ensure all requirements are met.
- Maintain updated cost databases, vendor pricing, and estimate revisions
- Attend pre-bid meetings or site visits as required
Project Management Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage roofing projects from award through completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the estimating and project execution phases.
- Collaborate closely with operations, site supervisors, field crews, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, and profitability, and take corrective action where required.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, RFIs, project correspondence, and closeout documentation.
- Support the successful transition from estimating to project execution and ensure a seamless project handoff.
- Coordinate final inspections, deficiency resolution, project closeout, and client handover.
- Perform all other duties as operational needs dictate.
What You Bring to the Role
- Experience in roofing or construction estimating (flat roofing an asset).
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using ERP, CRM, or construction management software is an asset.
- Red Seal roofer qualification is an asset.
- COR auditor experience is an asset.
- Estimator training and certification is an asset.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Ability to work accurately under tight bid submission deadlines while successfully managing active projects.
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
