Desjardins’ Investment Banking Group is looking to add to its growing Toronto team. Analysts are an integral part of Desjardins’ Investment Banking Group and are expected to provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to professionals within the group. They are assigned to a variety of mandates such as: mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, strategic advisory / alternatives projects and full capital structure solution projects. A team approach to executing coverage and financing assignments is designed to provide progressive on the job training.
The role of an analyst is challenging and fast-paced. It requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic.
This/these particular Analyst(s) will be primarily focused on one of the metals & mining/diversified/power & utilities sectors , but the successful candidate can be expected to get involved in other sectors as well.
Support in the execution of all facets of a mandate
Financial modeling, mainly focusing on valuation work through comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow analysis and other metrics as appropriate
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis and industry research
Assistance in the preparation of presentation materials for use in client meetings

Bachelor’s degree degree in finance, accounting, engineering or other related fields
A minimum zero to two years of relevant experience
Relevant industry experience (an asset)
Prior investment banking experience (an asset)

Current enrollment or completion of the CFA program (an asset)
Demonstrated knowledge and strong interest in finance, capital markets, metals & mining and/or diversified and/or power & utilities sectors

Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to explain detailed financial and statistical analyses
