Lead HSE Advisor – Industrial Construction- North Burnaby

Brymark Installations Group Inc. is looking for a strong, field-focused Lead HSE Advisor to support a major industrial construction project in North Burnaby, BC.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role on a high-profile project within an operating refinery environment, where safety, precision, and collaboration are critical. Position Snapshot
- Location: North Burnaby, BC
- Term: 5–6 months (contract)
- Schedule: 4x10s (Monday–Thursday)
- Compensation: $50–$65/hour (based on experience)
What You’ll Do
- Lead HSE initiatives on site, supporting project leadership and field teams.
- Champion a strong, proactive safety culture across all construction activities.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance.
- Facilitate orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings that engage crews.
- Review critical safety documentation (FLRAs, JHAs, permits).
- Oversee high-risk work including confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, working at heights, and critical lifts.
- Support incident investigations and drive meaningful corrective actions.
- Mentor supervisors and workers in hazard recognition and safe work practices.
What You Bring
- NCSO designation with 4+ years of HSE experience in refinery or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience working within operating refineries (inside battery limits).
- Strong knowledge of Permit to Work systems and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Hands-on expertise with confined space entry, gas monitoring, and high-risk work activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Required Certifications
- Intermediate First Aid
- Fall Protection
- Respirator Fit Test Trainer certification
- Competent with multi-gas monitors (calibration, bump testing, interpretation)
- Valid driver’s license
Nice to Have
- Refinery shutdowns/turnarounds or brownfield project experience
- Procore, ISNetWorld, or similar systems
- CRSP, CHSC, or additional safety designations
- Experience mentoring teams and building strong safety cultures
