We’re looking for a Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Auto to join our growing team!
In this 6-month opportunity as an Underwriting Assistant in our Commercial Auto department, your work will have a big impact on organizing and administrating our underwriting policies and procedures. People will count on you to deliver Intact’s legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risk to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.
The successful candidate can either be located at our downtown Edmonton or Calgary office.
Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:
Process insurance policy renewals, endorsements and cancellations. Apply standard terms and pricing in accordance with Intact practices
Input policy information into the system, search for information relevant to the underwriting function and provide certificates of insurance to brokers as per established guidelines
Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, confirm policy information, discuss coverages, options and payment plans
Review select underwriting reports and establish required action based on authority level
Retrieve information relevant to the underwriting function either by pulling files or checking policy history and financial strength through appropriate channels
Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously
Minimum of one (1) year office related and/or customer service experience
Underwriting Assistant experience is an asset
Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation an asset
Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work
Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
Exemplary written and verbal communication
Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
