The Product Manager – Private Brands will own end-2-end product launch from ideation through commercialization, bringing to market new private brand food, consumables, and health/beauty products. This product-obsessed role will understand market trends and utilize wide range of data to identify new product development opportunities to improve sales, penetration and profitability. #LI-FY1
1. Extensive emphasis on identifying & developing new private label opportunities & line extensions. Research the market, develop the product rationale, , create product & packaging, & recommend pricing, advertising, merchandising & promotions. Deliver the product to market in a timely, efficient manner2. Work in collaboration with Category Managers and DMMs to understand category strategy and set appropriate product strategies and roadmaps to maximize private label penetration, market share, sales volume & profitability of assigned product categories3. Develop strategies for existing products including reformulations & redesigns, pricing & promotions. Be responsible for building annual operating plans and executing new product roadmaps each year.4. Responsible for PL sales & profitability targets for their categories as well as new item launch targets(numbers & sales). Utilize available financial & management information systems to monitor sales results & profitablility & recommend actions to improve in market product performance5. Enable corporate strategic initiatives (ex. Sustainability, fill rates, time-to-market reduction, OTIF) as it relates to private brand products to improve brand perception and product experience in brick-and-mortar and e-commerce business6. Develop & maintain good communication & working relations with other departments within Walmart Canada as required(Category Management, Product Development, Quality, Sourcing, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Replenishment, Legal, Operations, packaging) & outside resources(Advertising agencies,Graphics suppliers) to own critical path to ensure on-time to market deliveries7. Partner with internal teams to develop enabling tools and process improvements the improve time-to-market to help scale Private Brand business8. Manage, maintain product adherence to brand positioning, brand guardrails, and customer value proposition to drive brand loyalty and equity.
