Loader
We are currently hiring one loader for afternoon shift: 12:30pm-8:30pm.
The Loader, under the direction of the Loading Supervisor, will primarily be responsible for the loading of company trucks for next day deliveries. This position will also assist in quality control for outgoing product and ensuring that all loads are shipped complete.
Job Duties
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate;
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading or unloading of trucks is cleaned up;
- Perform housekeeping duties in the yard;
- Work with the lead hand and Plant Supervisor to determine the next truck to be loaded;
- Show teamwork: help the other loaders when required;
- Assist with any other material handling duties required in the plant;
- Assist customers with the loading of product;
- Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing items prior to signing off;
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, carts, truck beds, and lifting devices;
- Report any discrepancies in inventory to management;
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements;
- Operate a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts;
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times;
- Transport finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually, or with powered equipment;
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency;
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times;
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools;
- Mark, record, and report defective products;
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Three years of related experience
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
Work Conditions
- Attendance and participation in training
- Use of required personal protective equipment
- Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
- Extended periods of standing
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to (25) kilograms
