Personal Support Worker / Constant Companion in personal care home
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient individual to provide one-on-one care and companionship for a resident in a personal care home setting. This role involves continuous supervision, personal care assistance, emotional support, and helping maintain the resident’s comfort, safety, and daily routine within the personal care home.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one daily supervision and companionship in the home
Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility support
Engage the resident in conversation, activities, walks, and companionship throughout the day
Monitor for changes in behavior, mood, or overall condition and report concerns to family or management
Ensure the resident’s safety and well-being at all times
Assist with light housekeeping related to the resident’s care and living space
Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive environment
Document daily observations and care provided if required
Follow all confidentiality and safety procedures
Qualifications:
PCA experience or related caregiving experience preferred
Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality
Ability to work independently in a personal care home environment
Experience working with dementia or individuals requiring supervision is considered an asset
Required documents upon hiring
First Aid/CPR certification
Clear code of conduct/vulnerable sector check
TB test
