Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly
Shift Work Required: Yes - On call rotation
Rate of Pay: $39.39 per hour
The start date will follow the selection process.
Main Function: Perform Electrician functions.
Characteristic: Under the supervision of a Water/Wastewater Supervisor.
Duties:
1. Plan, install, inspect and repair electrical and control systems.
2. Perform preventive maintenance routines within established procedures and schedules as required.
3. Perform electronic thawing of watermains and services using approved equipment as directed.
4. Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions.
5. Assist with facility operations and act as Operator in Charge as directed.
6. Conduct operational checks, make operational process adjustments, take samples, perform tests, maintain records and evaluate water or wastewater related processes.
7. Monitor document facility equipment performance data and advise supervisor of any problems to initiate corrective action.
8. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
9. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Training:
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Must be certified by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities as a Journeyman Electrician for both Construction and Maintenance.
- Must obtain Operator-in-Training Certification (OIT) from the Ontario Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program within six (6) weeks of hire and maintain until Level I achieved.
- Must obtain and maintain in good standing MOE Certification as Level I Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection or Water Treatment and Water Distribution within five (5) years.
Experience:
- Must have practical experience and proven ability.
Other Requirements:
- This role requires the use of tight-fitting respirators and employees must be clean-shaven where the mask seals. This is a Bona Fide Occupational Requirement (BFOR) under the human rights legislation.
- Must possess an Electrician’s tool kit sufficient to perform the duties.
- Must be able to prepare concise and clear reports.
- Must be able to effectively complete M.M.M.S. Crew Cards.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Provide, at own cost, a Respirator Fit Test.
- May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence, and have an acceptable driving record.
