The programs at Metro College of Technology cover engineering & technology, data science, information technology, and business and management. Currently we are looking for a student administrator to administer students’ affairs.
As a student administrator at Metro College of Technology, you will perform the following duties:
A. Student Schedule Management
a. Reviewing students’ files from the admission office and maintaining a student master list and class schedules
b. Creating student attendance sheets, grade sheets, student number list, and student course schedule
c. Preparing Instructor Assignment Forms for Instructors
d. Informing students of new class starts and schedule changes
e. Preparing and updating student attendance record sheets
f. Processing students’ withdrawal requests and withdrawing students who have destructive behaviors and/or underperformed academically
g. Monitoring student attendance and inspect online/in-person classrooms for punctuality of on-going classes and reporting attendance issues to the manager
h. Preparing re-exam schedule and coordinating re-exam activities
i. Closing student files, preparing and delivering diploma, certificates and transcripts to students
j. Responding to students’ requests and requests related to students from outside of the college
k. Organizing, facilitating and recording students’ complaint hearing
B. Student Fee Management
1) Taking student fee, maintaining fee records, preparing receipts and transferring student fee to finance manager
2) Performing refund calculations and inform students to pay the overdue fees and the finance manager to review refund calculations.
3) Preparing/delivering suspension letters to students who have overdue payments
4) Facilitating the student suspension
5) Rescheduling student payment plans and preparing private extension agreements for OSAP students
6) Preparing lists of students who have default payments and cleaning up their accounts regularly
C. Book Management
a. Ordering books and maintaining/updating book order records
b. Managing the book room and maintaining and updating book inventory records
c. Preparing/maintaining book distribution name lists and delivering books to students
d. Updating book delivery records in student files and the book distribution records in the book distribution name list
e. Returning books to vendors in a timely manner due to books being overstocked or change of book versions
f. Retiring books that are out of date and/or not returnable
g. Printing and (binding) materials created by the college
D. Student File Management
1) Maintaining and updating student files (both electronic and paper based)
2) Securing file access
3) Maintaining the copier in working condition and making sure the paper trays filled with paper
4) Maintaining well-organized a student file system and an working environment
You need to meet the following requirements:
1. You have a college diploma/university degree
2. 2-3 years of working experience as customer service representative are a great asset, preferable in an educational setting
3. You are detailed oriented, accurate and organized.
4. You are able to process students’ request effectively.
5. You are able to implement policies and follow procedures effectively.
6. You are able to schedule, group and prioritize events.
7. You can write and speak English well.
8. You are able to serve customers well.
9. You are able to handle difficult people.
10. You are skillful in MS Office, especially in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and you can type at least 35 wpm accurately
11. You are able to learn and apply what you have learned.

Working days and time: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Frid; 8:45 am to 5:15 pm with a half hour break.
Salary: $22-25/hours with annual bonus and health insurance benefits
