The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health is an award-winning Health Access Centre that provides holistic primary health care to First Nation, Inuit and Métis people living in Ottawa – one of the fastest growing and diverse urban Indigenous communities in Canada. Wabano is a fast-paced, client-oriented organization that models the Indigenous values of balance, respect and community interdependence.

Wabano is compiling a roster of qualified trainers/facilitators in order to deliver Indigenous Cultural Safety training to health service providers, boards of directors and executives across the Ontario Health funded agencies across the (former) Champlain region (Ottawa through to Cornwall).
Responsibilities:
- Using a Wabano training guide and training resources (training will be provided), the ICS Trainer/ Facilitator will deliver in-person education on ICS for health service providers, boards of directors and leadership;
- Plan and prepare for ICS training sessions (as needed) and relay training resource needs to the ICS team to ensure that all resources are available for the training session.

- This position would be a consulting position, which means successful applicants will have the ability to invoice;
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field (Indigenous Studies, Education, etc.);
- 1-2 years of experience providing workshops, group facilitation or other public speaking initiatives;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver effective training and facilitation;
- A thorough knowledge of Indigenous history, the impacts of colonization past and present with the ability to answer questions as they arise;
- Ability to travel throughout the Champlain region to provide training and attend meetings when required;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings.
- Criminal reference check for working with vulnerable people required;
- Valid driver’s license required.
