Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery trucks and commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of freight
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, applying automotive repair skills as needed
- Verify delivery orders, documentation, and freight manifests for accuracy before dispatching or upon receipt
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical challenges promptly
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and freight movements in compliance with company policies
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company procedures during all driving and operational activities
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, heavy machinery, or other industrial equipment
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and logistics operations
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and transportation industry standards
