COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1 Casual for COUNTRYSIDE NORTH

About the position:
McMan’s Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit dedicated CRW1 Casual workers to support adults with physical and developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and complex behaviors to enrich their quality of life in their homes and communities.
Hours: The hours for this position are CASUAL and can vary, including days, evenings, weekends, awake overnights and statutory holidays. Flexibility is required as shifts may vary based on program needs. Casual staff are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month excluding training hours.
Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta.
What you’ll do:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.
· Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.
· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.
· Completion of daily documentation.
· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.
· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.
· Participate in on-going program development.
What you bring:
· Completion of a High School Diploma. Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.
· Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field.
· Equivalencies may be considered.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).
· Emergency First Aid—Level A CPR + AED.
· A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required (a minimum of three years of verifiable driving experience in Alberta is an asset), drivers abstract, a reliable vehicle, and $2 million liability auto insurance coverage are required.
· Computer/Word processing skills.
· Ability to assist with personal care.
· Ability to assist with lifts and transfers.
· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.
· Desire to see individuals succeed.

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour
