POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Planning Coordinator is responsible for obtaining foundational knowledge and understanding on all divisions of the Planning department, in order to serve as a liaison between the Planners and collaborating departments.
MANUFACTURING PLANNING ROLE SCOPE:
- Responsible for the coordination of all manufacturing planning tasks, assisting in scheduling work orders for the manufacturing department, and utilizing the ERP system as mandated by the Company.
- Work closely with Production Planners and Plant Director to set and maintain deadlines for all work orders.
- Work closely with Purchasing Department to ensure adequate stock of manufacturing raw materials.
- Work closely with Engineering Department to ensure work orders, drawings and programs provided to the production and planning teams are accurate.
LABOUT PLANNING ROLE SCOPE:
- Responsible for the coordination of all labor planning scheduling tasks and assist in ensuring stock and labor transactions are recorded, utilizing the ERP system as mandated by the Company.
- Ensure the factory teams adheres to timelines without incident or downtime, with escalation to the Plant Director when the threat of timelines not being met occurs.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT COORDINATION ROLE SCOPE:
- Fulfill administrative work in the Planning Department.
- Follow up with all collaborating departments to acquire data required for Planning, in a timely manner.
- Communicate all delays, variances, changes to applicable departments as required; Escalate threats to production schedule to applicable key players, in a timely manner.
- Prepare and printing documents for the Picking and Assembly team.
- Distribute production schedules, work orders and related documents to departments in a timely manner.
- Review documents (production schedules, work orders or staffing) accurately and efficiently to determine personnel/materials requirements and/or material priorities.
- Follow up on delivery or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
- Follow up and collaborate with applicable key players to assess progress and discuss required changes to ensure schedule and promised ship dates are met.
- Revise schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, or engineering.
- Upon discovery, report defective product to the appropriate managers.
- Review outstanding Job Travelers and communicate to the appropriate individual(s).
- Schedule work orders for production as required when over-flow occurs or back up for planners is required.
- Perform all other planner duties as required when over-flow occurs or back up for planners is required.
- Maintain clean, controlled, and organized workspace.
- Responsible for handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Follow and enforce all health and safety regulations.
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and general safe working practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist when required.
- Overtime as required.
