We are currently seeking applicants for the full time, permanent position of Education & Student Success Coordinator in our Student Services Department.
Performs intake interviews to gain an understanding of individual needs and evaluates information from medical and/or psychological professionals to determine eligibility; and/or appropriate learning accommodation plans.
Educates students, families, faculty and staff on appropriate services for and communications with individuals with disabilities; compiles and distributes necessary documentation to verify the need for accommodation.
Assists individuals with solving obstacles unique and/or common to individuals with disabilities.
Increases understanding regarding issues affecting individuals with disabilities by delivering presentations, trainings, workshops and/or educational materials related to research and best practices.
Records interactions with individuals with disabilities and analyzes effectiveness of accommodations; compiles reports and analyzes data related to accommodations, compliance, and program efficacy.
Maintains confidentiality of college and student records, as applicable
Maintains current knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and/or systems as it relates to student learning needs.
Oversees all actions as it relates to student retention.
Coordinates support services for International students.
Supports student activities and student government related initiatives.
Supports student return process and monitors progress.
Coordinates student registration activities and assists in the coordination of graduation.
Oversees student survey initiatives.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must:
Possess a bachelor's degree or college diploma in a directly related field (Education, Early Childhood, Intervention, Youth Care, Human Services) and; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Have experience working with youth and/or population with special needs
Possess knowledge and understanding of regulations, guidelines and standards as applicable to an academic setting
Possess experience in coordinating activities in a fast paced environment
Have the ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
Possess knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavioral disabilities, where applicable
Be a team player and have strong interpersonal skills
Have excellent communication, listening and organizational skills
Have strong relationship building skills
Be detailed and possesses exceptional problem solving skills
Be able to advocate for student success
Have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
Possess strong administrative skills.
Be able to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple projects with highly effective time management skills.
Bilingualism will be considered a strong asset
