Job purpose
The robotics technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders.
Duties and responsibilities (preformed with guidance and supervision)
Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors
Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality
Program robotic equipment
Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures or templates
Train customers or other personnel to install, use, or maintain robots
Build or assemble robotic devices, systems or end of arm tooling
Assist engineers in the design, configuration, or application of robotic systems
Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process-related topics.
Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues
Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components
Test repaired equipment for proper performance
Align machines and equipment during installation and necessary technicians during set up of new equipment
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and techniques
Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
College or University Degree in Robotics Technician or Engineer is an asset
Valid Driver's License.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

5 years experience

Physical requirements
This position may require standing up to 100%, lifting up to 50lbs., climbing, overhead work, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting and working at heights
