Security Systems Service Technician – Subcontractor

About the Opportunity
JTL Security is an established Edmonton security company seeking an experienced and reliable Security Systems Service Technician / Subcontractor to support our residential and commercial projects throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas.
This is a flexible, project-based opportunity for an experienced technician who can work independently and professionally. Work may include service calls, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and new installations.
We are looking to build a long-term working relationship with the right technician.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and upgrade security alarm systems
- Install and configure video surveillance / CCTV systems
- Assist with access control and other low-voltage security systems
- Perform low-voltage wiring, device installation, programming, and system testing
- Diagnose system and communication issues
- Complete service calls and installations independently
- Maintain clean, professional workmanship at residential and commercial sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and the JTL office
- Document completed work, equipment used, and relevant site information
- Complete assigned work safely and within a reasonable timeframe
Qualifications
- Previous experience with security systems, alarms, CCTV, access control, or low-voltage systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete service work independently
- Commercial security installation experience is an asset
- Experience with DSC, Qolsys, Alarm.com, or similar platforms is a strong asset
- Experience with IP cameras, networking, NVRs, and video surveillance systems is an asset
- Must have your own basic tools and a reliable vehicle
- Valid driver's licence
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
- Good communication and time-management skills
- Ability to provide liability insurance and WCB coverage, or willingness to obtain them
- Must be legally eligible to work as an independent contractor in Alberta

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
