Your role

As Digital Producer – Branded Content for CBC Sports you will be responsible for sponsored content executions on digital platforms. You will conceive, plan, assign and create social and web content for all digital platforms in CBC Sports in collaboration with program teams and multiple internal and external stakeholders (i.e. sports federations and sponsors). You will also manage a variety of high end projects with some of Canada’s largest companies in co-operation with Media Solutions.

You will draw from your extensive industry knowledge to advise stakeholders on best value and return on developing material for social and web platforms, and other emerging tools that will provide exciting opportunities to meet the needs of the CBC Sports audience as well as client needs.

This is a contract position.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Knowledge of successful digital and broadcast sponsorship integrations and best practices in the industry.
Job requires a university degree or equivalent.
Position requires five years of proven experience creating and executing digital campaigns.
Knowledge of digital software technologies, as well as the fundamentals of interface design, usability and accessibility, is required, as is experience in the broadcast/media industry.
Excellent negotiating, communication and multi-tasking skills, along with proven judgment and tact. Experience working with clients and agencies would be an asset.
Proven experience producing and posting excellent interactive and social content that is popular, and easy for the audience to find and use. Experience and knowledge pertaining to major international multi-sport properties an asset.
Excellent awareness of social media and the sports broadcast industry, and how major industry players are employing a wide range of digital outputs and formats.
Keeps abreast of evolving interactive standards and industry best practices.
Good knowledge of the capabilities of a wide variety of digital platforms, including web, mobile, e-mail, SMS, and VOD, OTT and a knowledge of CBC presence and development on these platforms.
Ability to understand and work with various video formats.
Excellent understanding of usability, accessibility and information architecture.
Excellent knowledge of user testing practices for usability and quality assurance testing processes and protocols for product reliability and stability.
Knowledge of statistics and data management. Demonstrated ability to employ statistics in a creative format.
Good understanding of project management, legal and rights frameworks and constraints, and financial budget management.
Ability to learn new software programs and applications quickly.
Strong sense of journalistic urgency and demonstrated ability to work under tight and firm deadlines.
Strong knowledge of corporate objectives and how those objectives can be met with innovative and interactive tools that fit the needs of all relevant parties.
Ability to participate in a highly creative and collaborative team.
The ability to handle multiple priorities and to respond to many competing demands in a short space of time.
Ability to work, and direct the work of others, to tight deadlines without sacrificing creativity or quality.
Ability to focus and develop ideas to best utilize the corporation's return on investment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime and weekends as required (for example during the Olympics or other international sporting events).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Including the ability to edit or rework the work of others, and to clearly explain concepts to peers and management.
Experience in procurement processes (business cases, RFPs, contracting, etc.) is an asset.

Here are some of the required tasks for this position:
Managing all digital requests and editorial asks related to branded content.
Contributing new ideas and concepts, with a digital and/or emerging tech angle.
Creating and managing a digital calendar for all campaigns.
Optimize content to ensure engagement and retention (headlines, thumbnails, playlists).
Working with Olympic/Sponsored Unit to assist in campaign planning, with digital-first focus.
Working with internal sales and revenue teams to plan and execute all digital branded content plans.
Managing all digital requests and editorial asks related to branded content.
Copy editing, particularly using CP style.
