Join an experienced team who love what they do and have fun! Our truck team picks up donations from both corporate and residential donors. Every day is different! Truck teams can be asked to be based out of one or both of our ReStore locations.
Position Summary:
This is an 8 week Federal Summer Grant position. Grant requires candidates to be between 16-30 years of age. Location: 849 Orono Avenue, Langford. Could lead to casual work following the 8 weeks.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Driver's Assistant is responsible for partnering with the truck driver of a 1-3 ton cube truck safely and according to company procedure. You can expect to assist the Driver with navigation, and backing up the vehicle. Daily you will be collecting donations from residential and corporate donors. Drivers and Driver Assistants require the physical strength and aptitude for moving furniture, appliances, and large items with a partner. Act as an ambassador of Habitat Victoria while in the community and engaging with donors. (Note: Trucks have an power liftgate and teams have access to tools such as hand trucks, dollies, loading straps).

- Physically capable of carrying out the job duties. This position requires Truck Drivers to lift safely using a variety of tools including hand trucks, lifts etc. There is a 2 person team per truck.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Able to lift and move with up to 20kg on a regular basis
- Able to stand on feet for long periods
- Canadian or Permanent Resident (grant requirement)
