Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, assist with clinical and administrative duties, and support the smooth operation of our optometry practice. Duties
- Greet and check-in patients efficiently and professionally at the front desk
- Assist patients with their appointments, including scheduling and follow-up coordination
- Prepare exam rooms and assist optometrists during eye examinations
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments and intraocular pressure measurements
- Educate patients on eyewear options, lens selections, and retail sales of glasses and contact lenses
- Manage inventory of optical supplies and assist with retail sales activities
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and clinic protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or optical practice is preferred
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems such as ifile is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care and general healthcare
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Experience with front desk operations, including scheduling and insurance processing
- Background in retail sales or sales experience is a plus.
- Customer service experience is welcome.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients is advantageous
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing patient information and clinical tasks
