Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Hands-On Plant Maintenance Supervisor, where you will coordinate maintenance activities across our production facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and systems. As a key leader, you will oversee maintenance teams, manage projects, and implement strategies to optimize plant performance. Your expertise in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical processes, and management will drive operational excellence and foster a culture of safety and innovation.
Duties
- Supervise and lead maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure staff works in a safe manner and all training is maintained.
- Develop and execute maintenance schedules.
- Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of manufacturing equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, HVAC units, and low voltage systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical/mechanical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Manage projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, or process improvements with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations by conducting regular inspections and safety audits.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance through proactive maintenance strategies.
- Provide leadership in managing emergency repairs and coordinating with external vendors or contractors when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience (10 years exp) in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments with strong supervising skills.
- Experience in plastics industry would be an asset
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, motor control, electrical wiring (including low voltage), HVAC systems, and industrial machinery.
- Experience with project management principles to plan, execute, and monitor maintenance initiatives effectively.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software for work order management and asset tracking.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and electrical/mechanical diagrams clearly.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills in English to coordinate teams efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to industrial maintenance including Health and Safety standards.
