A Part-Time Academic is needed to teach BUSI 6216: Financial Technology from March 1 to April 9, 2027 on Mondays from 17:30 to 19:00 AST. The course is delivered intensively over a six-week period and is offered fully online, with synchronous (live) sessions in Microsoft Teams and asynchronous materials hosted on Brightspace. BUSI 6216 Financial Technology (Fintech) is an MBA elective open to Faculty of Management graduate students across program streams.
The course exposes students to the rapidly evolving fintech landscape through case studies, readings, and guest lectures. It examines the main changes happening in the financial industry and the factors driving the unprecedented growth in the use of technology, the components of the fintech ecosystem, the unbundling and re-bundling of banking, paytech and cross-border transfers, open banking and incumbents’ digital strategies, challenger and neo-banks, insurtech, and the role of fintech in advancing financial inclusion, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA), and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
This is a position with a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, excellent communication and dedication to student success with strong ability to offer education over online format. The Part-Time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation. The part-time academic should be available for class lectures and two hours per week for consultation with students. Additional meetings with the team of faculty teaching MBA courses may be required (approximately 1 hours / month). The part-time academic reports to Dr. Hamed Aghakhani, the MBA Program Director.
