JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
· Manage mechanics
· Maintain company equipment
· Troubleshoot problems
· Manage education of team
· Manage supplies for mechanics
· Warranty claim submissions
· Prepare customer estimates
· Complete work orders
· Manage and administer safety program
· Provide customer service and customer communication
SPECIFIC RESONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all shop mechanics
Responsible for shop hand
Ensure workplace is safe
Ensure all mechanics & shop hands work safely
Have shop at capacity for customer repairs
All Shop job quotes prepared and ready for customer’s review
Keep shop and yard clean and orderly
Ensure all mechanics are enrolled in apprenticeship and properly scheduled for school and training
Make sure all shop work orders are completed in an orderly fashion for invoicing as well as descriptions are correct and all products are accounted for
Testing all completed jobs before delivery to ensure quality
Maintain all shop equipment and keep in a safe and good working condition
Assist in the shop helping all mechanics
Ensure all equipment is ready for rent or for sale
Make sure all parts needed are properly ordered and proper freight is applied
Arbitrate any discrepancies with customers regarding billings
Coordinate all trucking shipments to ensure unloaded safely
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of strong HD full-time work experience
· Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate
· Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication (writing, planning, editing, formatting) in the English language
· Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Experience in customer service is an asset
· Ability to establish priorities, work independently, problem solve and proceed with objectives without supervision
· Must be alert and resourceful and be able to interact with a cross section of individuals
