Job Description – Project Management
Arctic Electrical Ltd. is an electrical contractor based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. We are looking for an office worker for our Iqaluit office to support our ongoing activities and growth opportunities. This is a rotational job that would require travel to and from Iqaluit. The ideal person for this role would have electrical knowledge, be flexible and adaptable, with a detail-oriented mindset. He/she should have prior experience in an office/administrative capacity. The ability to multi-task and to handle the unexpected are necessary qualities for this position.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls and/or emails
- Perform a variety of administrative duties, such as generating letters, spreadsheets, and forms as needed
- Assist in generating and distributing purchase orders. Track purchase orders from generation to delivery
- Follow up with vendors on shipment of materials and/or shop drawings as needed
- Assist with scheduling delivery of materials to Nunavut for Sealifts
- Update spreadsheets used by field operations as requested
- Assist with Health & Safety program
- Schedule and track meetings
Skills and Qualifications
- Electrical knowledge
- Previous experience in administrative duties
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Time-management skills and multitasking ability
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software and systems
- Experience developing office processes and filing systems
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Comfortable handling confidential information
