Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and maintain vehicles by performing tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
- Mechanical & Electrical Expertise: Repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and other vehicle components; perform body damage repairs as needed.
- Testing & Compliance: Conduct test drives, adjust vehicle controls and systems, and ensure compliance with provincial vehicle standards, including safety and combustion control.
- Preventive Maintenance: Keep vehicles and shop equipment in top condition by conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting breakdowns, and calling for repairs when necessary.
- Record Keeping & Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of services and repairs, manage parts and supplies, and utilize warranties to contain costs.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with automotive technology and industry changes by participating in training and reading technical publications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of automotive experience as a technician.
- Journeyman certification or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical, electronic, and computer systems.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and industry advancements.
- Mechanical aptitude with a keen interest in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms using proper techniques.
- Good hearing, eyesight, and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license.
