The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is currently recruiting for the position of Contract Part Time Aqua Fitness Instructor (every Thu 8 am - 9 am, 1 year contract). We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, experienced individuals to join our Aquatics team! Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and professionalism consistent with the standards of a premier private club
- Establish positive rapport with members and create an enjoyable and supportive class experience
- Respond professionally to member questions and feedback
- Encourage members to participate regularly and make appropriate recommendations regarding exercise modifications when necessary
- Work cooperatively with the Fitness and Aquatics teams to support the overall quality and consistency of the Club's fitness programming
- Maintain a strong focus on participant safety throughout every class
- Ensure exercises and activities are conducted in accordance with recognized aquatic fitness and safety practices.
- Remain attentive to participants' condition and respond appropriately to signs of fatigue, discomfort, or distress.
- Report any accidents, incidents, hazards, equipment concerns, or other safety issues promptly to the appropriate Club representative.
Job Requirements
- Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification required
- Aqua Fit/Water Fitness instructor certification
- At least 2 years of relevant experience required in group Aqua Fit or water fitness classes
- Experience working in a private club, fitness facility, recreation centre, health club, or similar member-service environment would be highly preferrable
- Strong knowledge of aquatic exercise principles, techniques, and safety practices
- Excellent verbal communication and group presentation skills
- Ability to confidently lead and motivate a group of participants
- Ability to provide exercise modifications for participants with different fitness levels and abilities
- Professional, punctual, dependable, and member-focused approach
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Club staff
