Description: The senior Java developer is responsible for the development, coding, unit testing and fine-tuning of the solutions developed, and this according to the specifications provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the functionalities and/or solutions with respect to the specifications, the established standards and ensures that the development integrates well into the existing systems;
- Prepares and performs the unit tests to verify and prove the end result performs as expected;
- Certifies that the documentation produced respects the development specifications and conforms to it;
- In certain cases, participates with the end client, in troubleshooting, debugging, and proposing solutions to meet client's expectations all while respecting the specifications;
- Documents the code and programming processes;
- Complete any related tasks requested by Manager;
- Able to execute accurately in a fast-paced environment;
- Participation in collaborative solutioning processes;
- Support a team culture of sustainable development with open and regular communication;
- From time to time, work extended hours/weekends in order to meet tight deadlines.
Position Requirements:
- University degree in IT or equivalent;
- Must have over 5 years’ experience in architecting, designing, and developing Web Services (REST, SOAP) with Oracle DB;
- Must be proficient in Oracle SQL and have working knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Must be fluent in Java, Spring Boot, and be familiar with Apache Tomcat Server
- More than 8 years of web and applications development experience with a minimum of 5 years in Java .
- Proven ability to write high-quality readable code that is easily supportable and maintainable;
- Experience in developing with JetBrains IntelliJ Integrated Development Environments, Maven and version control;
- Solid web development skills with HTML, CSS, Servlets, JSP, and JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX
- Ability to use version control software such as GIT.
- Strong knowledge of web-based technologies, XML and JSON processing, and modern application servers in a Java environment;
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of travel, tourism, or transport industry an asset.
