Position: Community Communications Coordinator

Salary: $22- $30.25/HR – 35 Hours per Week

POSITION SCOPE:
The Community Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies for Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. This role supports community engagement by creating and sharing clear, consistent, and culturally appropriate communications that promote programs, initiatives, and leadership activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field, OR,
- Grade 12 Diploma with 3-5 years of relevant experience
- 1–3 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related area is an asset
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, draft, and edit communication materials including newsletters, website content, and promotional materials
- Create and deliver internal and external communications to inform community members of leadership, programs, events, and initiatives
- Manage and maintain Atikameksheng Anishnawbek’s social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and audience engagement
- Manage and update the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek mobile app to ensure timely and accurate communication with community members
