We are seeking an Organic Chemistry Laboratory Analyst on a 12-month contract for our Garson location. Reporting to the Section Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Prepare and analyze environmental and industrial samples using established analytical methods for compounds such as BTEX, PAHs, VOCs, THMs, and other organic contaminants.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including GC/MS, HPLC, and LC-MS/MS systems.
- Optimize analytical methods and laboratory processes to improve efficiency, data quality, and productivity.
- Assist with and oversee method validation and verification of instruments.
- Conduct research and development projects, including the development and implementation of non-standard analytical methods when required.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality standards, laboratory procedures, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with the Organic Chemistry Section Coordinator and other laboratory staff to meet project timelines and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as GC/MS, HPLC, LC-MS/MS, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, method development, and quality assurance requirements.
- Experience in environmental analytical chemistry is considered a strong asset
