Position Summary:
As a member of the publicity team, the publicity assistant is responsible for daily administrative tasks, departmental invoicing, management of the intern program, and executing publicity campaigns for select authors, among other duties.

Publicity
- Execute publicity campaigns

Field media requests

Create press materials

Support publicists with events and media days

Develop and maintain relationships with media, booksellers, event organizers, agents
Administrative
- Prepare key title catalogs for pitch meetings

Manage general publicity inbox

Manage all department inventory and supply ordering
- Manage monthly events newsletter

Process all departmental invoices
Internships

Interview and hire candidates

Manage intern tasks and workload prioritization
Qualifications:
- Internship in publicity or publishing
-
Post-secondary education in a related field and/ or relevant experience

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong time management, organizational, and administrative skills

Excellent communication skills

Positive attitude

Ability to work well within a close-knit, team environment

Driver’s license an asset

Book publishing courses or certificate an asset
