Overview:
Join the Mount Norquay Maintenance Team as a Bus Mechanic and play a key role in keeping our transportation fleet running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a fleet of 24 passenger buses (no air brakes) that are essential to resort operations. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment with access to great perks and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on a fleet of passenger buses as well as heavy duty equipment such as Cats, excavators, loaders, skidsteers and other equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine issues
- Maintain accurate service records and report major issues promptly
- Assist with other mechanical work as needed, including small engine repairs and automotive vehicles
- Support the maintenance team with seasonal tasks such as snow clearing and lift start-ups
- Ensure all work is completed with a strong focus on safety and efficiency
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Education and hands-on experience in bus, automotive, or equipment mechanics
- Trade certification (Journeyperson or equivalent) is an asset although qualified apprentices will be considered
- Fall Arrest and First Aid certifications are assets
- Personal tools are an asset but not required
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights as needed
- Occasional work outside of standard hours during peak operational periods
