Position Overview
We are currently hiring a 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Leduc.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of Class 8 trucks and trailers, ensuring all equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications
· Registered 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice, or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
· Experience working on Class 8 trucks and trailers
· CVIP license (or willingness to obtain)
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Basic computer skills (Cummins and Paccar diagnostic programs)
· Ability to reliably commute to Leduc, AB
· Must own personal tools
· Willingness to participate in weekend on-call schedule
· Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
· Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
· Perform occasional repairs/preventative maintenance on light-duty vehicles
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
· Conduct inspections, including pre-CVIP checks
· Ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards
· Maintain clean and organized workspaces
· Accurately complete work orders and documentation
· Collaborate with team members to keep fleet running efficiently
