Comfort Cocoons Home Care Ltd. is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Registered Care Aide / Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our home care team in Richmond, BC.
We are especially looking for someone who lives in or near Richmond and is comfortable driving to clients' homes throughout the Richmond area.
Position
Registered Care Aide / Health Care Assistant (HCA)
Location: Richmond, BC
Job Type: Part-Time / Casual, with opportunity for additional hours
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist seniors with mobility, walking, and daily activities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Prepare simple meals and assist with feeding when required
- Provide medication reminders
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities
- Drive clients when required
- Follow individualized care plans and report changes or concerns to the care team
- Maintain respectful, professional, and compassionate communication with clients and families
Requirements
- Active registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Health Care Assistant / Care Aide education
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle and ability to drive clients when required
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, compassionate, and comfortable working independently in clients' homes
Preferred
- Richmond resident or someone living close to Richmond
- Previous experience providing home care to seniors
- Experience with dementia/memory care
- Flexible availability, including weekdays and/or weekends
- Comfortable providing companionship, personal care, and transportation
