About the Role:
Sethi International Trans Inc. is seeking an experienced Dispatch Operation Manager to lead and oversee our dispatch operations. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing the safe and compliant movement of freight — including oversized and heavy-haul loads — across North America. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, hands-on load booking and fleet management experience, and a solid understanding of cross-border compliance, permits, and routing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily dispatch operations for a fleet of trucks moving freight across Canada and the USA
- Plan, book, and dispatch loads — including over-dimensional and heavy-haul freight — in compliance with all provincial and state regulations
- Coordinate permits, routing, escorts, and clearances for oversized freight across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage fleet operations, driver scheduling, and load assignments using TransPlus TMS
- Process and manage cross-border shipments and customs documentation through BorderConnect
- Communicate detailed load instructions to drivers, including securement, routing, and timing requirements
- Track shipments in real time and proactively manage delays, weather, and route restrictions
- Ensure all documentation (permits, BOLs, rate confirmations, customs paperwork) is accurate and complete
- Work closely with customers to provide updates and meet service expectations
- Coordinate with internal teams including safety, compliance, and billing
- Lead, mentor, and support dispatch staff to maintain high service standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of combined managerial and load booking experience in truckload / heavy-haul freight
- Minimum 3 years of load booking experience in truckload / heavy-haul freight
- Minimum 3 years of fleet management experience using TransPlus (TMS)
- Minimum 3 years of experience processing cross-border shipments through BorderConnect
- Strong knowledge of North American permit regulations and routing requirements
- Experience coordinating escorts, pilot cars, and specialized equipment
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority loads simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with over-dimensional and project cargo
