Brandon Fitness Combat Academy (BFCA) is a dedicated combat sports facility in Brandon, Manitoba, offering programs in Olympic-style boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, youth athletics, and fitness. Our mission is to develop athletes of all ages and abilities through high quality coaching, structured programming, and a positive, disciplined training environment.
As we continue to expand our wrestling program, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Wrestling Coach to help build one of Western Manitoba's leading wrestling programs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about athlete development and wants to make a lasting impact on the local wrestling community.
Position Summary
The Wrestling Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading wrestling classes for athletes of various ages and skill levels. The successful candidate will oversee the growth and development of the wrestling program while preparing athletes for the possibility of competition and fostering a culture of discipline, respect, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead structured wrestling practices for youth and adult athletes.
- Develop seasonal training plans focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and mental development.
- Teach safe and effective wrestling techniques appropriate to each athlete's skill level.
- Prepare athletes for local, provincial, and national competitions.
- Coordinate athlete registrations, tournament entries, travel arrangements, and communication with Wrestling Manitoba and competition organizers.
- Coach athletes during competitions and provide technical and tactical feedback.
- Monitor athlete progress and establish individual development goals.
- Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive training environment.
- Recruit and retain athletes while helping grow the wrestling program.
- Work collaboratively with other BFCA coaches to support overall athlete development.
- Ensure wrestling equipment and training areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with club events, fundraising initiatives, community demonstrations, and promotional activities.
- Maintain attendance records and communicate regularly with athletes and parents.
- Continue developing coaching knowledge through ongoing education and professional development. (Right candidate will receive assistance regarding fee’s)
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Wrestling coaching and/or competitive wrestling experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A passion for coaching and developing athletes of all ages.
- The ability to build a positive and disciplined team culture.
- NCCP Wrestling coaching certification, or a willingness to obtain the required certification upon hiring.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check (or willingness to complete them before beginning employment).
Preferred Qualifications
The following would be considered assets:
- Experience coaching youth and competitive wrestlers.
- Experience developing beginner and long-term athlete development programs.
- Competition coaching experience at the provincial or national level.
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning for wrestlers.
- Experience organizing tournaments, competitions, or club events.

Schedule
Hours will primarily include evenings and occasional weekends, with additional time required for competitions, tournaments, and club events.

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and coaching responsibilities.
