Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Mechanic or Apprentice to join our maintenance team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and industrial equipment. Whether you are an experienced mechanic or an aspiring apprentice, this position offers valuable hands-on training and the opportunity to develop expertise in heavy machinery, automotive repair, and industrial systems. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, including engine diagnostics, brake systems, transmissions, and electrical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Conduct heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery as needed
- Repair or replace farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding components, and other mechanical parts
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe work environment
- Assist with assembly, installation, and testing of mechanical systems on various types of equipment
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and minimize downtime
Qualifications
- Dealership experience or previous mechanic experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, welding techniques, electrical systems, schematics reading, and industrial equipment operation is preferred
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair and maintenance using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery confidently
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients when necessary
- Prior experience working with industrial equipment or in a maintenance role is advantageous
- For apprenticeships: willingness to learn new skills and develop technical expertise through on-the-job training
