Summary:
Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Shipper/ Receiver is responsible for the receiving of goods, equipment, parts and other items, entering the computer workflow procedures regarding claims and deficiencies to the vendors, and ensuring that the items received match the requested amounts and are free from damage.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment testing.
Key Focuses:
- Verify incoming material according to the three (3) way verification process and receive into the SAP system.
- Collaborate with end user and vendors to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and claims on behalf of the client.
- Identify, prepare, pack, and distribute cross docked materials for shipping and distribute stocked materials throughout the warehouse accordingly.
- Unload trailers and sort incoming materials for processing.
- Verify and handle material paperwork such as verifying the material test reports (MTR’s) and the valve pressure test (NDT) reports.
- Maintain the proper flow of materials by following FIFO (first in first out) procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning and maintaining assigned workspace and the warehouse.
Skills and Requirements:
- Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Experience in SAP is considered an asset.
- At least 1-2 years of previous Shipper/Receiver experience in a Logistics or Warehouse environment is preferable.
- Candidates with a current and valid Forklift Certification and Fall Protection are an asset.
- PPE required (CSA approved steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, and reflective vest).
- Familiarity with industrial inventory related to mining, oil sands, and/or industrial construction.
- Must have good analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to speak, write and read English is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This is a full time position based in Edmonton, AB.
Shift: Team 31 (5 on, 4 off, 4 on and 5 off; 11.5 hours per day)
