Overview
Bryan College is seeking a Financial Aid Officer who is responsible for administering student financial assistance programs, including the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), institutional payment plans, and other funding sources. The Financial Aid Officer provides accurate financial counselling to prospective and enrolled students while ensuring compliance with provincial legislation, ministry requirements, and institutional policies. This important role works collaboratively with Admissions and Student Services to support student success through responsible financial aid administration.
Duties
- Support prospective and current students regarding financial aid options, including OSAP, Better Jobs Ontario, Indigenous funding, WSIB, Veterans Affairs, employer sponsorships, and institutional payment plans.
- Review, process and monitor student financial aid applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate student financial aid records and documentation.
- Process confirmations of enrolment and other required ministry reporting.
- Assist students with appeals, reassessments, and funding changes.
- Explain tuition, ancillary fees, payment schedules, and funding obligations.
- Educate students regarding loan responsibilities, grants, repayment obligations, and satisfactory academic progress requirements.
- Respond promptly to student inquiries regarding funding status and eligibility.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial aid administration, preferably within a Canadian post-secondary institution or Ontario Private Career College.
- Strong understanding of financial aid programs, policies, and application procedures.
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Education Administration, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly and effectively.
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
